Cedar shutters can also be left unfinished so that they weather to a soft gray tone that looks good in a rustic setting. But weathering takes its toll on longevity. So we recommend that you either finish your cedar shutters to match your color palette, or apply at least two coats of a clear, exterior-grade top coat.
