Your Shutterstile shutters are a reflection of your own unique taste and the particular arrangement and dimensions of the windows in your home. Therefore, your order is an important decision. You must take care to measure your windows properly (see How to Measure) and to choose the right combination of materials and finish to achieve the look you desire. Of course, the advantage of the Shutterstile concept is that you can easily change the look of your home by ordering additional panels in other styles and colors. But we want you to be happy with all of your choices, right from the start. So if you have any doubts about a particular choice of materials, color selection, size, or any other issue, let us know. If you're the kind of person who likes to do things in the correct order, the first step is to measure your windows. Then you have all the information you need to explore the possibilities with our Online Shutter Builder. Once you have selected a combination of tile and finish, just click on the "price this shutter" button. The price list provides the cost per square foot for your shutters. To determine the number of square feet in a pair of our standard 15-inch wide shutters, simply multiply the height of your windows in feet by 2.5 (15 inches is 1.25 feet; so a pair of 15 inch shutters is 1.25 x 2 = 2.5 feet). So a 4 foot high window will be 4 x 2.5 = 10 square feet for a pair of shutters. If the shutters you have selected cost $22.10 per square foot, your total cost would be 22.10 x 10 = $221.00 per pair. Once you place an order, we will follow up with a telephone call and a written Specifications Sheet to make sure we get your order right before we begin work.
Every order must be secured by a valid credit card before materials will be ordered and work will begin. Unless other arrangements are made in advance, we will charge 50% of the total dollar value of your order, including applicable tax and shipping fees, to your credit card within 24 hours after sending you the Specifications Sheet. The remainder of the cost for your order will be charged to your credit card upon completion of the order and before the order is shipped.
The length of time it takes to receive your order depends on three factors. First, since all of our shutters are custom made, it generally takes about a week to obtain all of the materials, including your choice of tile and frame material. Once we receive all of the materials, the actual construction time is about two weeks. This allows sufficient time for the adhesives and grout to set up prior to shipping. The final variable, shipping is beyond our control. When choosing a carrier, we consider not only delivery times, but the degree of care we have come to expect from that carrier. All other factors being equal, we would rather your order arrived intact than a day or two sooner. Please let us know if you have any special time constraints and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Once your order arrives, you should inspect the package for damage before accepting it from the shipping carrier. It is your responsibility to notify the carrier of any damage that may have occurred during shipping and to file the necessary claim forms should such damage occur. We will do our best to package your order securely. But we can't be responsible for damage in shipping. That is why shipping insurance is mandatory for every order.
Once you receive your order, you should open the package and inspect all of the contents immediately. If you find an error on our part, please let us know right away so that we can decide how best to resolve the issue. If we have made a mistake, you have our promise that we will make any necessary changes at no additional cost to you. But remember, the Specifications Sheet describes the details of your order. We can't be responsible for any errors or omissions in that document unless you notify us of the problem before we begin making your shutters.
